Training on Adversarial Criminal Justice System concludes for prison staff

Under the Project PANZ59 "Consolidating prison reform improvements in Panama", with the support of the US Embassy in Panama, UNODC, the Prison Training Academy and the Ministry of Government organized a training workshop on the adversarial criminal justice system for more than one hundred prison officials.

The three training workshops, each lasting a week, took place during September, November and December and were delivered by different judicial officers from the Republic of Panama. Among the topics covered were the principles of the criminal system, phases, intervening parties, execution of sentences and judges of penal execution.

These training workshops have been of critical importance due to the recent implementation of the new criminal justice system in the Third Judicial District and its significant impact on prison work.
