Training on transnational organized crime during the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on security forces in Panama

Panama, May 15, 2020. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN) delivered a course on the operation of transnational organized crime during the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on security forces in Panama.

 

This training was conducted to raise awareness among intelligence agents of the Public Force, the National Police, the Air Force Service, decision - makers of the National Border Service of Panama and operators of the institutions that deal with transnational organized crime.

The training addressed the new ways in which criminal organizations operated during the Covid-19 pandemic, considering aspects such as the mitigation measures that States have taken to reduce contagion.
