Training on the operations of organized crime during the pandemic and ethics and integrity aimed at immigration officials in Panama

Panama, November 27, 2020. Twenty officials from the National Immigration Service were trained on the ways organized crime operated during the pandemic by Covid19 and on ethics for public officials.
The participants learned about the impact of the actions of organized crime during the pandemic and how government measures and mobility restrictions have impacted their operations, among others.
In addition, topics of ethics and integrity in public service were addressed, such as the main external and internal risks (crimes) that threaten the country; different aspects of corruption, such as the factors that favor its realization; and the United Nations Convention against Corruption as an effective tool in the fight against corruption.
In addition, transparency and accountability as important elements in preventing corruption and ethics and institutional integrity as effective measures to prevent acts of corruption.
