Training on Traffic Control of Drugs, Substances and Chemical Precursors

 

El Salvador, May 2, 2019. Within the framework of the project to strengthen institutional capacity to improve control of drug trafficking and chemical precursors in Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica and El Salvador), UNODC Colombia in coordination with UNODC -ROPAN and UNODC-POSAL offered a training with the aim of improving the analysis capacity of the institutions involved in the issue, dealing with the problem of drug trafficking and chemical precursors.

On the training, held from April 23 to 25, topics such as criminal investigation, control of substances and chemical precursors, research methodology of chemical precursors, interdiction in ports and airports and construction of the criminal interdiction model were taught.
Two practical exercises were carried out from the material and knowledge imparted.
The facilitators in these sessions were experts such as Major Jaime Enrique Higgins, Cap. Darlyn Andrés Marín and Sub Tte. Oscar Alfredo Ochoa, officers of the Counter Narcotics Directorate of the Colombian National Police; as well as Lt. Cnel. (r) Miguel Tujano, expert from UNODC.
The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic, the National Civil Police, the Armed Forces, the General Directorate of Customs, the General Directorate of Migration and Immigration, the General Directorate of Drugs, the Port Maritime Authority and the Autonomous Port Executive Commission also participated in this event.
