UNODC and the National Police of Honduras delivered the workshop magnet axiom for the analysis of digital evidence
The 28th and 29th of May, 2018, the office of the United Nations against Drug and Crime in coordination with the National Police Division of Investigations (DPI) of Honduras, roll out a workshop for the Analysis of Digital Evidence (Magnet Basics), attended by nine investigators and police officers specialized of the Cybercrime Unit and Investigative Forensics Unit of the DPI.
The workshop aim was to instruct the participants on the tools they may use such as Magnet Axiom to extract sensitive digital information stored in a mobil digital device. The course was taught by Mr. Alejandro Leal, from the company International Trademarks Distributions S.A. de C.V., the company responsible for the exclusive distribution and support of the tool Magnet Axiom.
Additionally, UNODC donated three licenses of software Forense Magnet Axiom Complete to the National Police of Honduras. With this donation, the UNODC contributes the fortitude of capacity of institutions in order to proceed effectively with the deterioration of cybercrime, so that they can obtain and examine forensic digital evidence.
This workshop was a success thanks to the generous financial support of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) on behalf of the United States Embassy in El Salvador in the framework of the Cybercrime Global Programme.
