UNODC Delivered a Presentation of Anticorruption Initiative to the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA)
San Salvador, El Salvador, Monday 25, january 2016 .
The Regional Office for Central American and the Caribbean and the Programme Office for El Salvador Anticorruption Team, held a meeting with the Central American Integration System (SICA) General Secretary, Ms. Marina de Avilés, with the purpose of discussing the technical support that UNODC delivers to El Salvador and the Central American and Caribbean region in Anticorruption.
Ms. Virgina de Abajo-Márquez, regional anticorruption adviser for UNODC, in representation of Mr. Amado Philip de Andrés, UNODC Regional Representative for Central America and the Caribbean, delivered a presentation of the project "Countering Corruption in El Salvador: Supporting the prevention, investigation and prosecution of corruption in El Salvador" and the team in charge of its implementation, led by Ms. Mónica Mendoza, who will be the Chief of the UNODC ROPAN Programme Office for El Salvador, from February 1 st, 2016.
Furthermore, Ms. De Abajo-Márquez, highlighted the importance of the solid relationship established between UNODC and the region countries, and the Office will of working with the Central American Integration System in regional formative specialized activities on anticorruption.
