UNODC holds Cybercrime Workshop in Belize
Belize, February 10, 2020. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN), through the Global Cybercrime Program, offered an array of cybercrime training to officials from diverse agencies in Belize.
A session entitled " Requesting Digital Evidence from Foreign Internet Service Providers"engaged officials from the communications regulatory agency, as well as investigators, prosecutors, and judges. A workshop on basic aspects of cybercrime was attended by social workers, officials of the communications regulator, investigators, prosecutors and judges. Social workers, investigators, prosecutors and judges received training in online investigative techniques in child sexual abuse cases. A separate workshop on the basics of cybercrime investigation and digital forensic analysis was held for investigators and prosecutors. In total, over 97 officials from 5 agencies received valuable cybercrime training in this event.
