UNODC Strengthens Technological Capabilities on Digital Evidence Analysis of National Civil Police of El Salvador for Fight Cybercrime

The United Nations Regional Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean in Panama (UNODC ROPAN), through the Program Office of El Salvador, under the project "Strengthening of the capacities of El Salvador National Police to effectively identify and investigate cybercrime cases", has reinforced forensic analysis and cybercrime research, through specialized equipment and furniture donation.

The units of the law enforcement benefited by the donation are: Cybercrime Unit of the Central Division of Investigation, the Section of Cybercrime of the Scientific and Technical Police Division, and the Analysis Unit of the General Attorney. The donation includes: 3 forensic analysis of mobile telephony equipment, 2 search and analysis of digital evidence licenses, 1 Investigation analysis license, 8 Desktop computers, 1 forensics computer, 3 Printers and spare parts for ink, 16 hard disks, 24 desk modules, 32 secretarial chairs and 6 archivists.

This donation was possible thanks to the financial resources provided by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the Embassy of the United States in El Salvador under the project previously mentioned, which is being implemented by UNODC.
