UNODC was visited by the Ambassador Permanent Representative of El Salvador in Vienna
On Friday, 25 November, UNODC POSAL (Programs Office for El Salvador) had the visit of the Permanent Representative of El Salvador in Vienna, Lucía Rosella Magdalena Badía de Funes.
The meeting was attended by the entire POSAL team and consisted of presenting both projects that are currently being implemented in POSAL. On behalf of: Countering Corruption in El Salvador: Supporting the prevention, investigation and prosecution of corruption in El Salvador", the Country Office Manager, Mónica Mendoza, explained the 5 components of the project and all the work that has been developed up to the date. Likewise, Nayelly Loya, Project Coordinator of: "Strengthening the capabilities of the National Civil Police of El Salvador in the effective identification and investigation of cybercrime cases", developed a presentation on the project, areas and components of work.
In addition, Nayelly Loya spoke about the new project to be implemented by the office: "Prevention and Fight against Trafficking in Migrants and Trafficking in Persons in El Salvador", which aims to strengthen national capacities from detection to trial of migrant smuggling cases and trafficking in persons.
The Ambassador discussed the possibility of working in different areas in which UNODC focuses and agreed to coordinate efforts from her office in Vienna, POSAL and Salvadoran institutions.
