UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme supports Latin American and Caribbean countries with e-learning courses
Panama, 24 June 2020. In the furtherance of supporting the work of the Port Control Units under COVID-19, the CCP regional team delivered training activities through online sessions and other e-learning tools in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
These training are aimed at enhancing technical and operational capacities of the customs and police officers engaged in the PCUs established under the programme.
The first Regional Training was organized was attended by more than 25 law-enforcement officers from Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and Paraguay, who shared their personal views and experiences on their daily work in the different ports in the region.
Also, UNODC and WCO in conjunction with the Customs Administrations have initiated e-Learning and online training courses using a synchronous methodology, where instructors and participants interact over an ICT platform.
This CCP training is tailor-made for Port Control Units’ (PCUs) requirements and capacity building goals. During this e-leaning, the Programme offered extensive eLearning materials for police and customs.
The Programme delivered a Basic Refresh Online Training for law enforcement officers of the CCP units established in Jamaica, Surinam and Guyana.
This training activity has been perfectly adapted to the PCUs common interests and shared requirements from the participating PCUs.
