Webinar in Investigations Involving Online Platforms in El Salvador

El Salvador, 7 May 2021. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN), through the Global Programme on Cybercrime, delivered a webinar addressed to Salvadoran prosecutors in leading investigations involving the acquisition and analysis of evidence found in online platforms. The webinar took place from 5 to 6 May 2021.

The objective of this four-hour webinar was to explain the techniques and tools that investigators apply to identify, obtain, and analyse evidence found in online platforms such as social media, search engines and online markets.
Additionally, the team of UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime deliver two presentations. The first presentation about the latest open source investigation techniques and tools. The second presentation about digital evidence and due diligence.
This webminar was the last of three webminars addressed to prosecutors from different regions of El Salvador, with the participation of more than 200 prosecutors among the three activities.
This webinar has been made possible thanks to the coordination with El Salvador Prosecutors’ School and the Police Cybercrime Unit. As well as the funding from the Canadian government to the UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime.
