Workshop on Cybercrime Prevention and Internet Crimes Against Children

The Mexican Embassy in Guatemala the Regional Office for Central America and the Caribbean of  United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime organized a Workshop on Cybercrime Prevention and Internet Crimes Against Children within the project "Strengthening Capacity to Prevent and Combat Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) in Central America".

The workshop was led by Police Officers from the Scientific Division and Intelligence Division of the Mexico Federal Police. The Divisions addressed the following subjects: Attacks, Threats and Vulnerabilities; Global, regional and local cybercrime; Cybercrime; Transnational Organized Crime; Anti-Social Behaviors and Cyber-crimes; Internet Crimes Against Children; Cybercrime prevention strategies and tools; Monitoring the public network on the internet; Local and transnational criminal investigation of cybercrime; and Cybersecurity.

Sixty-six (66) Police Officers from different units and offices of the National Civil Police of Guatemala who develop actions on criminal investigation and prevention attended the workshop. The workshop was held thanks to the Canadian Government and its generous financial support for the project within the Anti-Crime Capacity Building Program (ACCBP).
