Workshop on "Pharmacological adherence and psychotherapeutic care in substance users and HIV/AIDS patients" in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo, May 6, 2022. With the aim of strengthening the capacities of health personnel in the Dominican Republic, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) offered the workshop Pharmacological adherence and psychotherapeutic care in substance users and HIV/AIDS patients.
This training - carried out within the framework of the program for prevention, treatment, care and support in relation to HIV/AIDS for drug users and persons deprived of liberty, was attended by 60 collaborators from the Department of Mental Health, the Directorate of Control of Sexually Transmitted Infections and AIDS and the Integral Center for Dependency Care.
This activity addressed topics such as psychotherapeutic management of substance users and their families; pharmacological management with substitutes and their adherence to treatment; pharmacological adherence of HIV/AIDS patients, among others.
