Workshops on cybercrime and human trafficking prevention in Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago, August 31, 2020. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Latin America and the Caribbean, through the TRACK4TIP project for the Caribbean (Transforming Alerts into Criminal Justice Responses to Combat Trafficking in Persons within Migratory Flows), offered three workshops aimed at young people and women from Venezuela.

In coordination with the NGO TTV Solidarity Network, the first of these virtual meetings was held on Thursday, August 27 and was attended by 55 young people aged 13 - 17. The theme was about the prevention of cybercrime with emphasis on the use of children and adolescents in sexual crimes and the presentation was given by Jordi Martin, a specialist in cybercrime prevention of UNODC.
Human trafficking was the theme of the second and third workshop (August 28 and September 2) and the speaker was Lourdes Gutierrez, expert in human trafficking and project coordinator of UNODC.
