Youth Leadership Schools in El Salvador
El Salvador, March 24, 2022. The Youth Leadership Schools aim to increase the interest and educational and political skills of young people to become community leaders and agents of social change.
In these training spaces, which are operating in the municipalities of Colón, Santa Ana, San Salvador, San Miguel and Zacatecoluca, students acquire knowledge under the STEAM methodology on topics such as peace building, prevention of gender-based violence and reduction of stigma and discrimination in LGBTIQ+ youth.
There are more than 114 young people who receive this training as part of the MOVEO project, implemented by Huellas Foundation.
MOVEO Project is funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund and is implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
