Yusuf Mollaoglu

Programme Coordinator:   Law Enforcement 

 

Yusuf Mollaoglu is a senior law enforcement professional with hands-on experience in criminal investigations in the field of countering narcotics, organized crime, and financial crimes.

Having served at supervisory positions for 15 years both in field and central divisions of the Department of Anti-Smuggling, Counter-Narcotics and Organized Crime of the Turkish National Police, he continued his career at international level.

He served in the United Nations (UN) Mission in Liberia for a year as a UN Police Officer/Internal Affairs Investigator. In 2010, he served in the European Union Police Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a Criminal Justice Expert in the field of countering narcotics and organized crime. 

At his first post in UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), he served in Tajikistan for two years and coordinated the first project on establishment of Border Liaison Offices in Central Asia. Later, he worked as a Law Enforcement Expert for two years in the UNODC Country Office for Afghanistan in Kabul, where he coordinated precursor control activities under the UNODC Country Program.

In January 2015, he started working as the coordinator of Sub-Programme.1 (Regional Law Enforcement Cooperation) of the UNODC Regional Programme for Afghanistan and Neighbouring Countries. At this post, he also served as the Regional Law Enforcement Advisor of the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia.

In April 2019, due to some personal issues, he resigned from his job at UNODC. In May 2019, he got a licence from the Istanbul Bar Association, and worked as a freelance Attorney at Law in Istanbul, Turkey.

On 20 May 2020, he was appointed to be "Program Coordinator of Law Enforcement Sub-Programmes" of both UNODC Country Programme for Pakistan and UNODC Regional Programme for Afghanistan and Neighbouring Countries.

Mr. Mollaoglu has two bachelor degrees -  BA from Security Sciences Faculty of the Turkish National Police Academy, and LL.B from the Law Faculty of the Ankara University. He has obtained his master's degree (LL.M) in the field of international commercial law
