BANGKOK (Thailand), 23 March 2009 - The 3-day workshop represents an opportunity for a group of experts to review and update the Model Strategies and Practical Measures on the elimination of violence against women in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. The report of the meeting, which includes in its annex the Updated Model Strategies and Practical Measures, will be submitted to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its 19th session (April 2010).
The workshop draws on the joint efforts of the Thai Ministry of Justice and UNODC, under the patronage of the public awareness campaign "Say NO to violence against women" promoted by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha and UNIFEM.
