Building capacity to combat trafficking in persons in the Republic of Moldova

Through this project revision, UNODC will continue assisting the Moldovan Government in enhancing its responses to counteract trafficking in persons as a phenomenon of crime. The proposed revision builds on the successes of UNODC project MOL/R85. Approval of the revision is sought to extend project duration by 4 months till December 2009. The funds will be used to finalize the Anti-Human Trafficking Curriculum and to support its inclusion into the regular curriculum of the National Institute of Justice . Institutionalisation of the nti-Human Trafficking Curriculum will considerably increase the sustainability of already provided assistance. The immediate objectives of the project remain unchanged. The execution modalities remain unchanged. Agreement on the proposed execution of the project activities has been reached in consultation with the relevant counterparts involved in the implementation.
