The Commission on Narcotic Drugs, Bearing in mind the administrative and financial functions entrusted to it by the General Assembly in its resolution 46/185 C, section XVI, paragraph 2, of 20December 1991, Having considered the report of the Executive Director of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme containing the proposed revised budget for the biennium 2002-2003 and proposed outline for the biennium 2004-2005 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme,[1] Taking into consideration the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions relating to the proposed revised budget for the biennium 2002-2003 and proposed outline for the biennium 2004-2005 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme,[2] 1. Approves an appropriation in the amount of 34,243,500 United States dollars for the revised support budget for the biennium 2002-2003 funded under the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme for the purposes indicated below:
2. Authorizes the Executive Director to redeploy resources between appropriation lines up to a maximum of 5 per cent of the appropriation to which the resources are redeployed; 3. Endorses the revised resource allocation for programme activities in the amount of 130,170,100 dollars for the biennium 2002-2003 funded under the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme as indicated below:
4. Also endorses the programme and budget strategy for the biennium 2004-2005; 5. Takes note of the outline for the biennium 2004-2005, totalling 170,937,900 dollars, for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme, in the following areas:
6. Considers that the proposed outline provides a basis for the submission of the proposed initial budget for the biennium 2004-2005 by the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. |
