The Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting on Crime Statistics and Victimisation Surveys (1-3 December 2014, Bangkok) was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in partnership with and funded by the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) and the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC). The meeting brought together senior statisticians and expert practitioners in Asia and the Pacific to assess the challenges of producing high quality, readily accessible and internationally comparable statistics on crime and criminal justice, including those required to meet the emerging needs of the post 2015 sustainable development agenda, and to identify opportunities for regional activities and programs to assist countries address those challenges.
