10 October 2016 - A coordination and operational meeting to align an integrated implementation of CRIMJUST was held at UNODC Headquarters.
With the objective of ensuring an integrated implementation of CRIMJUST project, an operational and coordination meeting with INTERPOL, Transparency International and the UNODC Corruption and Economic Crime Branch was held in Vienna.
During the meeting, initial activities and actions tackling institutional integrity, accountability and the enhancement of the capacity of civil societies were systematized.
In order to mitigate risks of duplication and to prevent the overlapping of tasks, important synergy points and opportunities for inter-project collaboration, as well as some challenges and correspondent solutions were identified. This ensures a coherent approach and effective implementation of the project's agenda.
Under the framework of the project CRIMJUST, the UNODC and its partners (INTERPOL and Transparency International) aim to assist Member States to enhance their capacity and integrity of criminal justice institutions to detect, investigate, prosecute and adjudicate illicit cocaine trafficking cases, to foster cooperation at the interregional level for effective action to tackle drug trafficking and related organized crime.
