12-13 September 2017 - UNODC ROPAN provides a workshop on communication techniques to address the press and civil society on matters of investigations of organised crime and money laundering.
During the two-day CRIMJUST workshop, Mr. José Ignacio Gerez, Attorney General of the Province of Neuquén, Argentina, and Mr. Sebastián Lafón, Chief of Communications of the Public Ministry, provided the participants with technical information on how to plan communication strategies of Public Prosecutors' Offices according to the importance of organized crime and money laundering cases. The course aimed to support the development of communication strategies addressing the press and citizens, and is a key and fundamental element for strengthening, projecting and legitimizing the criminal justice institutions as axis of the justice system in the Dominican society.

Under the framework of the CRIMJUST Programme, funded by EU Cocaine Route Programme, the UNODC and its partners (INTERPOL and TI) aim to assist Member States to enhance their capacity and integrity of criminal justice institutions to detect, investigate, prosecute and adjudicate illicit cocaine trafficking cases, and to foster cooperation at the interregional level for effective action to tackle drug trafficking and related organized crime.
