Preventing corruption, wildlife crime and sports integrity among topics to be discussed at anti-corruption conference in Vienna

Vienna, 25 October 2017 - The Seventh Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) - COSP7 will be held at the Vienna International Centre from 6 to 10 November 2017. Preventing corruption, international cooperation in asset recovery and sports integrity will be among the topics to be discussed.

The high-level opening will be addressed by the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Yury Fedotov.

The United Nations Convention against Corruption is the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument. Every two years the States Parties to the Convention meet to review implementation of the Convention and discuss ways to improve cooperation between States parties to achieve the Convention's objectives. More than 1,000 participants are expected to attend from governments, regional and inter-governmental organizations, civil society and the private sector.
