22 May 2009 - As part of its campaign to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represents to society as a whole, especially to the young, UNODC launched today a dedicated website at www.unodc.org/drugs.
The campaign website includes a wealth of information on different types of drugs, from cannabis to methamphetamine, and health tips for parents, teachers and young people. The site is currently available in English and Spanish. The French version is coming soon.
Besides encouraging young people and their role models to get the facts about drugs, UNODC invites individuals, non-profit organizations, the private sector and Member States to get involved. Those interested can join the campaign by, for example, organizing outreach events to mark 26 June, World Drug Day, or by using the campaign slogan and logo in promotional products, websites and social media.
At www.unodc.org/drugs, visitors will find logos, brochures, factsheets and web banners in different languages. They will also get a chance to take a stand against drug use by joining our Facebook group and cause, adding their World Drug Day photographs to the UNODC Flickr collection or following us on Twitter, in English and Spanish.
