Regional Consultation Workshop on the Development of Model Guidelines to Enhance Regional Cooperation in West Africa, 23 June 2021

Organized Crime: West African Response to trafficking (OCWAR–T) organized a regional consultation workshop in collaboration with the West African Network of Central Authorities and Prosecutors (WACAP) on the development of model guidelines, revision of existing legal frameworks, and strengthening regional judicial cooperation networks. The participants of the workshop were WACAP focal points, representatives of West African Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), ECOWAS Commission, GIZ/OCWAR-T, GIZ police program, and several UNODC officials. Workshop on Strengthening the Judicial Integrity in West Africa, 27-28 May 2021

On 27 and 28 May 2021, UNODC Corruption and Integrity Section and WACAP network jointly conducted the workshop on strengthening judicial integrity in West Africa through the Sahel Judicial Platform. The aim of the workshop was to promote the application of the code of judicial ethics for a better implementation of Article 11 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) as well as to define best practices across the region for strengthening the codes of judicial conduct.[Read more]

First Plenary Meeting of the South East Asia Justice Network (SEAJust), 9-10 February 2021

The South East Asia Justice Network (SEAJust) convened the First Plenary Meeting with nationally appointed contact points on 9-10 February 2021. Criminal justice practitioners from competent central authorities of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam took part in this event. The overarching goal of the meeting was to vote on the membership of Malaysia and the Philippines, following a previous request submitted by both countries, and discuss the technicalities pertaining to the modus operandi of the network with a view to further enhancing its operationality.
