The second Constructive Dialogue on Firearms with relevant stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, will be convened on Friday, 5 May 2023, following the 10th session of the Working Group on Firearms, in accordance with paragraph 53 of the Procedures and rules for the functioning of the UNTOC review mechanism.
Participants from States parties and signatories, non-signatories, entities and intergovernmental organizations to the Working Group on Firearms that wish to participate in the upcoming Constructive Dialogue can do so using the same meeting link of the Working Group.
A call for participation of non-governmental stakeholders, incl. non-governmental organizations, academia and the private sector, for this Constructive Dialogue has been issued, and a list of interested applicants has been circulated to States parties via the extended Bureau of the eleventh session of the Conference of the parties to UNTOC for comments pursuant to paragraph 53 (d) and (e) of the procedures and rules for the UNTOC Review Mechanism. Invitations have been sent out for the participation of stakeholders of which no objection has been received.
The meeting will be held in English from 10:00 - 13:00 and 15:00 - 18:00 (CET summer time) in a hybrid mode, with in-person participation at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) and online participation through MS Teams.
