The UNODC Youth Forum is one of the platforms through which the Youth Initiative connects youth leaders from around the world to disseminate evidence-based drug use prevention, and empower youths to become changemakers in their own communities. Held every year since 2012, the global pandemic did not hinder youths in making their voice be heard at the 64th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND).
The Youth Forum 2021 observed participation from 62 youth in 41 countries and was held virtually using digital platforms to make the sessions interactive and engaging for participants. Click here for more information on what happened in this year’s Youth Forum. UNODC continues to work with active youth from this year’s Youth Forum by publishing a youth-created Magazine and supporting their development of Strategic Plans of action in their own communities. More information on both activities will follow, so please stay tuned!
For active young leaders who want to participate in the Youth Forum 2022, please note that youth need to be nominated by each country’s Permanent Mission and undergo a selection process to be selected as the final participant. Nominations are going on NOW, so if you’re interested, hustle up and get in touch with relevant government organizations, schools, or civil societies who may be associated with the nomination process of your country!
We look forward to welcoming Youth Participants for Youth Forum 2022
