SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts |
UNODC's Alternative Development programmes support the overall sustainable development efforts and lay significant emphasis on the maintenance of environment and natural resources. The design and implementation of Alternative Development programmes is based on the notion of sustainability and contributes to the sustainable use of natural and forest resources and the prevention of global warming and climate change. Such interventions enable Member States to collectively promote pro-poor development, while ensuring biodiversity conservation. Further, Alternative Development programmes also implement land stabilization projects, help to build resilience against illicit crop cultivation among communities affected by climate change. |
