Building the Capacity of Yemeni Judges and Prosecutors on Victims' Support in Terrorism Cases   Within the context of the 'Project on Strengthening the Legal Regime against Terrorism in Yemen', the UNODC Terrorism Prevention Branch (UNODC/TPB) organized a national workshop for 14 Yemeni Judges in Cairo, from 30 July - 1 August 2016.   UNODC Participates in the XV Meeting of the Heads of Special Services, Security and Law Enforcement Agencies   UNODC's Executive Director, Yury Fedotov, took part and delivered a keynote speech at the XV Meeting of the heads of special services, security and law enforcement agencies, organized by the Russian Federation and held in Saint-Petersburg on 27 and 28 July 2016.  Please follow the link to access the Communique of the meeting.
Training Egyptian Judges and Law Enforcement Officers on Witness Protection in Terrorist Cases   Within the Project on "Strengthening the Legal Regime against Terrorism in Egypt", the UNODC Terrorism Prevention Branch (UNODC/TPB) organized a national training in Cairo, from 26-28 July 2016. The training focused on good practices for the protection of witnesses in terrorist cases, to support Egyptian judges and law enforcement officers working on terrorist cases involving the protection of witnesses.  Read more >

Jordan:Completing Phase I with a Moot Court on Terrorism-Related Cases
Within the framework of the bilateral programme entitled "Strengthening the legal regime against terrorism in Jordan", UNODC/TPB held a moot court on the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of terrorism-related cases. It was held in Amman from 9 to 11 May 2016. The moot court was the fourth and final activity held under the above-mentioned programme.  Read more >

On 8 May 2016, the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material entered into force. It is one of the 19 international legal instruments against terrorism.  Read more >
