Join us on 21 May 2025 in exploring the important role male allies play for transformative change for gender equality and enhanced operational effectiveness in law enforcement in Eastern Africa. Engaging male allies in the promotion of gender equality within law enforcement is critical to achieving sustainable institutional transformation. The programme “Empowering Every Badge: Transforming Gender Dynamics in Law Enforcement in Eastern Africa”, led by UNODC, UN Women, and EAPCCO, recognizes that achieving gender parity and fostering gender-responsive policing requires the active participation of men.
This CCPCJ side event will showcase how ultimately, the inclusion of male allies contributes to more trusted, effective, and equitable policing—enhancing the capacity of law enforcement to counter transnational organized crime, sexual and gender-based violence, violent extremism, and terrorism while building stronger community relationships.
