Rabat, 30 July 2024 – Since joining in 2020, Morocco has officially supported the Blue Heart Campaign. The campaign was launched by the Minister of Justice, who also leads the Moroccan National Commission for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Trafficking in Persons.
On 30 July 2024, Morocco marked the 10th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons under the Blue Heart Campaign. This effort was a collaboration between the European Union delegation in Morocco, the Moroccan National Committee for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Human Trafficking, the Ministry of Justice, and the Regional United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
This year's campaign featured a national awareness initiative aimed at protecting children and adolescents from various forms of exploitation, including those facilitated by cyberspace and social media. To commemorate the day, an event brought together authorities, the international community, and civil society organizations committed to fighting human trafficking in Morocco. Government buildings in Rabat were lit in blue, and the blue heart symbol was projected onto the city's landmark buildings.
