Mental Health Matters

April 19th 2022

We have a question for you.

When you were approached with the common small-talk question: "How are you?", have you ever honestly listened to your inner self and given an honest answer to the person you were speaking to?

Most probably not, if you tend to respond with a generic answer.  In fact, often we don't really reflect or speak openly when we are not feeling well. However, mental health is very important and needs to be taken seriously. The consequences of ignoring our feelings and addressing them in a healthy manner can lead to arguments, depression, anxiety, drug use, or even physical problems.

Valeria Hernández contributed her thoughts and reflections on better addressing our mental health through her article in the Youth Initiative magazine. She addresses daily issues that affect mental health and encourages the reader to pay closer attention to his/her state of mind and of course their environment. If you’re interested in knowing Valeria’s tips on how to better take care of your mental health, have a read through her article: Mental Health Matters.

The second as well as the first issue of the Youth Initiative magazine, the Butterfly Wings, presents numerous articles written by inspiring and open-minded young people. We are also pleased to announce that we are getting closer to releasing the third issue of the magazine.
