ECOWAS Support Project



The Drug Demand Reduction program aims to support the production of reliable and comparable epidemiological data on drugs in West Africa. It provides support for prevention and treatment programs implemented by ECOWAS Member States. It also aims to identify and disseminate best practices in reducing drug demand, including within civil society. 


Grants to CSO  : support to Civil Society Organizations involved in anti-drug and Prevention activities; target: youth in ECOWAS Countries and Mauritania. Several organizations already received a grant.


Activities: 01 Conference on Epidemiology of Drug Users in West Africa in Dakar (26 sept 2016) and ; 01 Scientific Regional Conference on Prevention and Treatment of Drug Use disorders was held in Abidjan (20-21 feb 2017)


Civil Society Organizations, Ministries of Health in West Africa, Interministerial Drug Control Cells, etc
