This course provides a general introduction into the field of digital forensics and forms the basis of subsequent training in cybercrime investigations and digital forensics using UNODC basic and advanced training materials. Due to the rapidly growing use of electronic devices, digital forensics has become a scientific discipline of high importance for solving crimes. The main goal of the course is to train law enforcement officers in collecting evidence for prosecuting crimes involving digital evidence. In order to go through the course, familiarity with national civil and criminal law is a pre-condition. Trainees will familiarize themselves with the main concepts of digital forensics and electronic evidence and learn about relevant steps that need to be taken during the seizure and acquisition procedures. The course consists of 13 thematic modules and can be completed through a multiple-choice test that contains one question per module.

This module is designed to reduce the impact of HIV on the UN workplace by supporting "universal access" to a comprehensive range of benefits for all UN personnel and their families.
