UNODC South Eastern Europe on Criminal justice and prison reform

South Eastern Europe is vulnerable to the threat of corruption in various sectors of life. The countries/territories covered by the Regional Programme recognise that public corruption is a serious problem affecting the political, social and economic aspects of the everyday life of their citizens. Overall, the countries/territories have undertaken a number of measures to improve the rule of law and integrity in criminal justice systems. Nevertheless, their governments have identified particular needs for regional cooperation in the areas of anti-corruption, strengthening coordination between law enforcement and justice institutions, juvenile justice and prison reforms.
