VIENNA, Austria – March 2023: At its 66th regular session from 13 to 17 March 2023, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs decided to place seven new psychoactive substances under international control. Following recommendations by the WHO, four substances were added to the relevant schedules of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol and three substances were added to the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971.
Added to the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, as amended by the 1972 Protocol - (Schedule I):
- 2-Methyl-AP-237
- Etazene
- Etonitazepyne
- Protonitazene
Added to the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971 – (Schedule II):
- ADB-BUTINACA
- alpha-PiHP
- 3-Methylmethcathinone
