May 2013 - Chile: 25I-NBOMe reaches the Southern Cone

CHILE – 10 May 2013. The new psychoactive substance 25I-NBOMe has reached the Southern Cone. The substance, allegedly to be 10 times more potent than LSD, was identified by Chilean custom authorities following an examination of a consignment from Spain that was believed to contain LSD impregnated in stamps. Four Colombians who claimed the package were initially arrested but as this substance is not subject to national control, they were subsequently released. National police expects the issuance of a Sanitary warning by the Chilean National Health Institute (ISP) after toxicity studies on the drug are carried out.The Colombia drug observatory has also warned of the presence of NBOMe substance sold as LSD in the country.
