Narcotic and Psychotropics Law of March 1953 (updated)

Since 2008 the list of controlled substances contained in the Narcotics and Psychotropics Control Law (1953) - the main piece of legislation for drug control- has been amended to place NPS under control. For instance, the synthetic phenethylamines 2C-I, 2C-T-2 were added to the list in 2008; the synthetic cannabinoids JWH-018 and the cathinones MDPV and mephedrone were added in 2012; the phenethylamine PMMA, the tryptamine 5-MeO-DALT, the cathinones ethcathinone and α-PVP, the synthetic cannabinoids JWH-073, JWH-122 and AM- compounds were also added in 2012. In November 2015, 25C-NBOMe, AH-7921, 25B-NBOMe and 25I-NBOMe were reclassified from "Designated Substance" to "Narcotic", while methoxetamine, MT-45, acetylfentanyl and 4,4’-DMAR were reclassified in June 2016. By June 2016, 26 substances have been reclassified from designated substances to narcotics.
