The main piece of drug legislation in the country is the Law No. 2313 on the Control of Narcotic Drugs. Since 2011, a number of NPS have been added to the list of controlled substances. A number of 2C- and JWH-compounds and khat were added to the list of controlled substances in 2011 (Karar Sayısı : 2011/1310). Alpha-PVP. MDPV, TFMPP, mephedrone, AM-2201, JWH-201 and 302 and Salvia divinorum were added in 2012 (Decree no. 2012/2861). JWH- compounds, CP- compounds, PMMA and aminoindanes such as 5-AI were added in 2014 (see regulation 03/01/2014).

Up to February 2015, the Government of Turkey has reported the control of 340 NPS. In 2016, several benzodiazepines such as adinazolam, deschloroetizolam, diclazepam, flubromazepam, flubromazolam, meclonazepam, and pyrazolam, have also been added to the list of controlled drugs (see here).
