A number of NPS were included in the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP) 2012 by the Poison Standard 2012 (Schedule 9). Examples include mephedrone, JWH-250, MDPV. Prohibited substances are poisons and preparations whose sale, distribution, use, possession and manufacture are prohibited, and they may be used only for medical and scientific research.
