July 2018 – India: Narcotics Control Bureau reports more than 170 kg of mephedrone seized in 2017

NEW DELHI, India – July 2018: According to the Indian Narcotics Control Bureau, the quantity of mephedrone seizures in the country totalled 173 kg in 2017. In comparison, around 300 kg of mephedrone were reported to have been seized worldwide in 2016. In India, the majority of mephedrone seizures in 2017 were reported in New Delhi and smaller amounts were also reported in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. That year, 110 kg of mephedrone were seized at 4 multi-drug manufacturing facilities dismantled in the country.
