April 2013 - United Kingdom: Benzofury as dangerous as illegal drugs such as ecstasy

UNITED KINGDOM – 9 April 2013. One of the most popular NPS in the UK, 6-APB, known as “Benzo Fury”, could be as dangerous as ecstasy, a new study has revealed. Experiments on rats suggest that these pills are addictive and could cause high blood pressure. 6-APB was found to present mixed effects of amphetamine and hallucinogenic effects. This combination is often found in illegal substances controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act - making them potentially lethal.
