Drug prices

Since 2005 UNODC has developed an information system on prices for drugs and its derivatives. In the zones where illicit crops are cultivated, data on prices during the main production phases are collected by people linked to the UNODC's Monitoring Programme or Alternative Development Programme. This data is complemented with prices collected by the National Programme against Illicit Crops (PCI), with prices supplied by contacts or residents from the different regions as well as information provided by the Anti-Narcotics Department (DIRAN) of the National Police through its Headquarters in the different cities, and their informants or people that have been detained. The prices are entered into a database that forms part of the information on world prices for the Worldwide Monitoring Programme.
