Preparations for the next review phase

In 2023, the Conference of the States Parties to the Convention decided at its tenth session (decision 10/2) to extend the duration of the second cycle of the Implementation Review Mechanism until June 2026 and tasked the Implementation Review Group (IRG) with continuing discussions on assessing the Mechanism’s performance as well as on the scope, thematic sequence and details of the next review phase. The aim is to provide recommendations to the Conference at its eleventh session and launch the new phase of the Review Mechanism as soon as possible.
