Whoever indulges in match fixing or spot fixing in sports, shall be liable to imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than three years but which may extend to five years and shall also be liable to fine which shall not be less than five lakh rupees.
Whoever has been previously convicted of an offence punishable under sub-section (1) and is subsequently found guilty of an offence punishable under said sub-section, shall be punished for second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years but which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to fine which shall not be less than seven lakh rupees.
