Health-care professionals are one of the core elements of the Global Children Program as they are often one of the first to come in contact with vulnerable children. Healthcare Professionals provide science based treatment and facilitate re-entry and integration into communities, schools and their families.

The UNODC, Drug Prevention and Health Branch has produced a "Psychosocial Implementation Manual" that is helpful in support of the work of healthcare personnel.
