Crime Prevention by The Local Self-Governments: A New Manual in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Programme Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the Management Academy under the President of Kyrgyzstan and "Foundation for Tolerance International" (FTI) designed Manual on Crime Prevention by the local self-governments in the Kyrgyz Republic in Russian language.

The Manual contains legislation regulating crime prevention, basics of communication with population, coordination mechanisms and practical lessons on adoption of crime prevention action plans, and practical examples of previous similar work implemented in pilot municipalities. It is recommended for students of "Governmental and municipal management" university departments and teachers, think tanks and other interested in crime prevention by local municipalities.

The course is to be integrated to the educational process of the Management Academy under the President of Kyrgyzstan and will be taught on a constant basis.
