Regional training course on "Methods of data collection and forensic information analysis" 

20-22 December 2017, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic 

Sub Programme 1 on "Regional Law Enforcement Cooperation" of the UNODC Regional Programme for Afghanistan and Neighbouring Countries (RP) organized a regional training workshop on "Methods of data collection and forensic information analysis" on 20-22 December 2017 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Eighteen forensic experts from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan participated in the workshop.

 

During the three-day interactive training, the participants were introduced to best-practices and recent advances in data collection and analysis of forensic information. Participants became familiar with regulations related to forensic-chemical evidence, duties and rights of experts, legal problems and mistakes in the preparation of cases utilizing forensic-chemical evidence in cases of illicit drug trafficking. Furthermore, the forensic experts gained in-depth knowledge of the latest methods of collection and analysis of forensic information as well as on establishment of forensic-chemical databases on national and interagency levels.

All participants expressed their satisfaction and requested the organization of such training courses in the future.
