An informal document, containing a programme for the meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption to be held from 13 to 17 June 2022, is available here.

Subject to developments relating to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it is currently planned that the session will be held in person. While registered delegates will be able to observe the proceedings online through the Interprefy platform, there will be only very limited opportunities to deliver statements remotely. To facilitate the work of the interpreters, during each three-hour meeting, only 30 minutes will be allotted to statements delivered remotely by online participants. Therefore, to assist the work of the interpreters and to avoid technical problems, delegations are encouraged, to the degree possible, to ensure that the statements are delivered by the representatives present in the conference room.

Reference is made to the Conference resolution 4/6, whereby inter alia civil society briefings shall be convened on the margins of the sessions of the Implementation Review Group. According to that resolution, in accordance with rule 17, paragraphs 1 and 2, respectively, of the rules of procedure of the Conference, the Secretariat shall invite to the briefings:

  1. relevant non-governmental organizations having consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, as well as
  2. other relevant non-governmental organizations, which have been admitted to participate as observers in the session of the Conference previous to the briefing.

The same resolution indicates that “[n]on-governmental organizations wishing to attend a briefing shall confirm their attendance no later than ten days prior to the date of the briefing, at which time they will be allowed to provide comments in writing.”

Accordingly, invitations are sent to the above-mentioned categories of non-governmental organizations.
