New multi-year initiative launched to step up global response to trafficking in persons and the smuggling of migrants

          

21 January 2016 - The European Union (EU) and UNODC have launched the Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants. A four-year joint initiative between the EU and UNODC, the programme will be implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) through to 2019. Experts in Thailand discuss alternative development approach with eye on UN drugs meeting in 2016   

November 23, 2015.In preparation for UNGASS 2016, over 150 policy makers, experts, practitioners, members of international organizations, and civil society from 27 countries gathered this week to exchange ideas and lessons learned, and to consider alternative development in the context of the global development agenda. The ICAD2 is hosted by the Government of Thailand, in collaboration with the Government of Germany and UNODC.  Read more.
